D.C. in Word Pictures

I'm almost always caught by words; words that say much with few letters, poetic words from the heart, bold statements meant to prompt action.

While in D.C. this past week/end, I bumped into my fair share of words. Many made me pause. Often, they uplifted. Some were even life-changing.

I'll keep my own words to a minimum this post to allow you a visual tour of some of the words I met while in the nation's capital.

Our first stop in D.C., a refuge after 25 hours by bus
We had Mass here, led by our own chaplain. One of the Stations of the Cross...
Outside, the "Ave Maria" in Choctaw

Our next morning began here, at the eighth largest church/basilica in the world
Ceiling of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception
Ambo where the Word of God was read by Archbishop Chaput

Finally, the 40th annual March for Life begins!

The witnesses...

The Fargo group...
Star Parker presents at student conference the following day
Last day touring...feeling close to home at the Lincoln Memorial

Korean War remembered...
Words of wisdom at the Holocaust Museum
What's a trip without food?
The White House - goodbye D.C.!

Beautifully done...I feel like I was THERE ( again! ) on the March and in the midst of the crowds. Not only doI love how you captured the experience in photos, but L adore the fact that you let the photos do the "talking."
Great great idea.
Thank you...
Love
Chris

It looks like you hit all the highlights and then some. Looks exciting and exhausting!

Thanks for taking us along for the trip. My husband and I flew to DC on Sept. 11 2000 (ONE YEAR before thee 9/11) and haven't been back since. I definitely want to though. Seeing those memorials in the picture reminds me of how connected to our country's history I felt while there. It was a fantastic learning experience. Hope you had a nice time. :)
